From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:

Can you believe July is already over?Time flies when you are having fun and we have had a lot of fun this month.

Thirty two Louisiana members attended the Multi-State Friendship Exchange in Springfield, Mo.The fun night Friday was a 50s night, your WGM was in a bubble gum blowing contest, a hula-hoop contest, and a question session on the 50s.¬The following day the lunches were great and the evening banquet was wonderful.

On the 17th we ttendeda courtesy visit to Mystic Star in Denham Springs. Here the WGP and I, and our teams, competed in a question and answer session where we tied. We then participated in a Flip/Flop Night where the WGM filled the station of WP, and the WGP filled the station of WM for the opening of the Chapter.Fun was had by all.

July 18th we attended the OV of District 16 with Shelly Thomas serving as DDGM. On the 19th we attended the OV of District 17 with Valerie Knight serving as DDGM.¬Both Districts did a great job.¬The decorations were outstanding, the food was delicious, and the membership welcomed us with Star love. Thank you to all.

July 26th we had the first Fraternal Relations Day.Sister Bonnie King did a great job organizing this event. It was well attended and enjoyed by all.¬Afterwards¬we attended the OV of District 4 with Pamela Duncan serving as DDGM.¬What a wonderful time.¬Thank you members of District 4 for your hard work and loving welcomes.

Reminders:Order your tickets for the MS/LA Exchange on September 13th.¬ ¬We have a Courtesy Visit on August 19th at Star of Bethlehem #93.¬There are several Courtesy Visits scheduled for September: 1st, Nova Stella #36; 8th, Fidelity No. 160; 11th Lafayette #46; 12th, Myrtle Celeste #231; and 23rd, Alice #5.

Quote of the Month:Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself. Og Mandino

Keep Your Lights Shining with Star Love,

Pamela Gill
