From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:
Dear
Sisters and Brothers,
Where
did the month of November go? We started out on the first with a great Official
Visit in District 18 with an awards ceremony, including red carpets,
billboards, and movie land decorations.
The outside was lighted with a tall lighthouse and the way in was lined
with velvet ropes so we didnt get lost. Wonderful job Rejeana Bonnette, DDGM.
The
final Official Visit was on the eighth in Leesville. Georgeanne Andrus,
DDGM, and her workers did a wonderful job of decorating and serving. What a wonderful way to conclude the Official
Visits. Thank you District 10!
Many
of us attended a Courtesy Visit in Lafayette on the 13th. Donna Harrist did
her usual great job. The decorations
were awesome, Oscar Abshire carved the turkeys, and
we had a feast. There were new and potential members welcomed at dinner and the
open part of the meeting. What a
wonderful way to introduce prospects to our Order. A wonderful time was had by all.
I
sincerely hope that each of you had a memorable Thanksgiving Day with lots of
food and fellowship. It is truly
heartwarming to spend a day giving thanks.
Chapter
Secretaries, please report all pertinent information to the District Chairman
concerning our projects by December 31.
Also, turn in the names of those in your chapter who have earned the
Personal Achievement Award. The District
Chairmen need time to complete their reports to the State Chairmen.
Now
we enter my favorite time of the year, Christmas. As the Star of Bethlehem led the wise men,
may your beacons of light lead others to the light of Christ. May all the
decorations bring you joy. George and I wish you a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year!
Some
of us will be attending Arkansas Grand Chapter December 3rd and 4th. We will return and join you for the Bell
Ringers Luncheon for Cancer on December 6th.
Quote of the Month: “The victory of success is half won when
one gains the habit of setting goals and achieving them. Even the most tedious
chore will become endurable as you parade through each day convinced that every
task, no matter how menial or boring, brings you closer to fulfilling your
dreams. Og Mandino
Keep
Your Lights Shining with Star Love,
