From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:

It will soon be Christmas. I hope that you will remember the Reason for the Season. I pray that you will take time to read the story of the birth of Jesus. It is found in Luke 2 of the bible.

There were twenty nine members who attended General Grand Chapter in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 31st - November 5th. There were six Grand Officers, eleven Past Grand Matrons and Past Grand Patrons and twelve other members. Louisiana received recognition for Alzheimers. We were fourth in the fund raising competition. Great job, Sister Diane. Congratulations to our 2015 - 2018 General Grand Chapter Committee Members and special appointment. They are John Wayne Harrist, PGP, Credentials; Linn McNary, PGM, Chairman, Heart; Mary Howell, PGM, Regenerative Medicine; Joy Beth Williams, PGM, Support First Responders; Jane McDaniel, PGM, Choir Director and Delores Woods, Hummingbirds of the MWGM. Once again, I would like to recognize the outgoing General Grand Chapter Committee Members. They are Terrie Castay, PGMAmbassador to New Jersey, Diane Smith, PGM Alzheimers and George Barker, PGPCancer. You represented us very well. There were thirty seven Louisiana and Texas members and one awesome bus driver on the Branson Extravaganza. These included five Grand Officers, five Past Grand Matrons and Past Grand Patrons and twenty-seven other members. Thank you to Nanette Gwaltney, our tour guide, for a wonderful trip. We had a week of fun, laughter, lots of shows, shopping and a day with a lot of rain. We made memories and new friends!

Several are planning to attend Arkansas Grand Chapter December 2 in Little Rock, Arkansas. I hope to see you there.

The Southern Section Workshop will be held on Saturday December 12 at A.W. Connelly # 117 located at 109 Bayou Black Drive in Houma. The workshop will be from 10:00 a.m. 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

District Chairman, please send your report to the State Chairman on or before January 15, 2016 . They will begin to prepare their reports beginning in January.

The shoes for our Mexico Shoes project have been counted, boxed and sent to Mexico. The ministry team left on Friday, November 20th , to take shoes, blankets, and other items to be distributed to the less fortunate in Mexico. Thank you so much for the many shoes that you gave. A total count will be given at Grand Chapter during our Mexico Shoes report. I asked, and you gave. THANK YOU!

You will find 2016 Grand Chapter Session information included in this newsletter. Please send in your registration, order your meal tickets, and make your reservations as soon as possible.

Sister Norma Lee, PM is very ill. Please remember her and her family as they attend to her needs. Also, Sister Ruby Bradley is home from the hospital. Sister Bert Denham, wife of Gwayne Denham, PGP passed away on Friday November 20th. Please take a moment to send a card, or make a phone call to any who have been ill, had surgeries, or have lost loved ones. Remember them in your prayers and the military and our government.

Clarification Moment: Secretaries remember immediately after the installation of officers to furnish the Associate Grand Matron, Grand Conductress, Grand Secretary and Chairman of the Committee on Credentials the names and address of the first five (5) officers of the chapter and the telephone number of the Chapter Secretary. Also after the installation of officers furnish the Associate Grand Matron and Grand Conductress the names and address of the Past Matrons and Past Patrons belonging to the chapter giving some information relative to their activity and interest in the Order. Remember this is chapter business, so therefore it must be sent with the seal of the chapter. No emails are permissible.

Brother Rocky and I wish for you a very Merry Christmas!

We cant but God can

With the Stars in the Sky and Star love,

SOCIAL MEDIA DIRECTIVE

The Social Media Guidelines were sent out in the newsletter earlier this year.  There were many questions on number 14.  Formal communications with other Grand Jurisdictions and their constituent chapters must be conducted through the Chapter Secretary or Grand Secretary. This needs to be corrected.

Any correspondence with other Grand Jurisdictions must be reported to and handled by the Worthy Grand Matron of Louisiana. The Grand Secretary will handle some instances, such as Grand Representative certificates.  In this instance, the Grand Secretary acts on the direction of the Worthy Grand Matron. Kathy Warmack, WGM

It has been a wonderful experience which we will certainly cherish for the rest of our lives. We also wish to thank Louisiana for the lovely breakfast held for us and the love gift received while in Pittsburg. We thank Sister Kathy, Brother Rocky and Sister Juanita for arranging this breakfast for us and for all the members who attended With love and gratitude, we thank you again for all you have done to make this such a memorable event for each of us. With fraternal love, Harles I Creech, PMWGP; Terrie Castay, Ambassador to New Jersey; Diane Smith, Alzheimers Committee and George Barker, Cancer Committee

A special thanks to our Louisiana members:

Thank you for your love and support to me as General Grand Chapter Committee Member on Alzheimer's for the 2012-2015 Triennium.  I thoroughly enjoyed serving our General Grand Chapter and representing Louisiana.  I have never been so proud as to stand in the East at General Grand Chapter and hear that our wonderful state of Louisiana was 4th place out of the top 5 in the fund raising competition of jurisdictions from all around the world.  Our Worthy Grand Matron, Sister Kathy and Worthy Grand Patron, Bro. Rocky were both called on stage and were presented with the certificate for Louisiana.  Congratulations Louisiana members for your donations and your continued support throughout the entire three years.  I do - I do - I do love and thank each of you from the bottom of my heart.  Star Love & Miles of Smiles, Diane Smith, PGM
