From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

The Official Visits have begun! The Official Visits in District 11 and 12 were really well attended.  Brother Otto and I thank you so much for your support and getting them off to a great start!  The DDGMs and the District members did a great job!  A highlight was attending church together in Alexandria and then enjoying lunch at Piccadilly.   In July hope to see you at one of the Official Visits or at the Multi-State Exchange in Atlanta.  NOTE: If attending the Multi-State Exchange wear your favorite sports team shirt (LSU, Saints, etc) and black pants for the Friday night event!

In planning for the Upcoming Work & Ritual Workshops, we are requesting that members submit questions or topics that you would like to have addressed.  The Workshops are for you, the membership.  Please submit questions to Janet Shook, PGM, at WGM1999@yahoo.com. and Diane Smith, GGCCM, at WGMOES2007@yahoo.com.  The first Workshop will be on Saturday, August 17, at 1:00 pm at Trinity Union Lodge 3950 Florida St., Baton Rouge.

The Grand Secretary is still accepting donations to the Oklahoma OES Disaster Fund.  Monies will be sent on to the OK Grand Chapter.  Continue to submit your items of interest to the OES Friendship Line at the new e-mail:  laoesfriendship@aol.com.

Final Call for the FUN TRIP to Chicago!  We will be taking the overnight Amtrak train - catching the train in either New Orleans or Hammond in the afternoon of Sept 22 and arriving in Chicago the next morning.  We will see the sights of Chicago from Sept 23-27 arriving back on Saturday the 28th.  See flyer at www.laoes.org.

SHRINERS TRANSPORTATION PROJECT:  Secretaries please get your Peppermint Candy sales monies to the Grand Secretary ASAP and note that it is for the candy sales. Thank you so much for your help with this.  Thanks to everyone for buying and selling this great Louisiana product!

On a personal note, thanks so much for the sympathy cards and loving concerns following the death of my Uncle Maurice Dunbar.  He was to attend my Installation, but had a bad fall and subsequently died of pneumonia.

HAVE A FUN 4th OF JULY!  Proudly fly your flag!

Star Love and Lilies For You!
