From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:

I can hardly believe that half of 2016 is gone.Time really does fly when having fun.Our events got off to a good start with the Homecoming in Leesville.Thank you again to all who made this gathering such a success.

Our first Official Visit was District 8.Sister Judy Beverly, you did a wonderful job of planning and executing those plans.I know how hard you worked to make it a success. On June 10th, the Rainbow Assembly welcomed us where I had the privilege of speaking on behalf of the Order of the Eastern Star. The girls are doing an excellent job of their work.A huge thanks belongs to those adult leaders who give so much of themselves and their time.

Districts 9 and 10 hosted their Official Visits.Even though District 10 fell on Fathers Day, many chose to join us.Several told me they celebrated on Saturday so they could be present.Thank you for your dedication. Then we journeyed north for District 4 on Friday night and the LA/AR Exchange on Saturday.

The LA/AR Exchange saw members sharing a picnic with family.Sister Mary Howell thank you for emceeing the event, Sister Diane Smith for the fun activities, and Carol Presley for decorating. Many others help by being present to help with set up, table favors, and anything else that needed doing. You are too many to mention because I know I would omit someone. But, I appreciate all that each of you did.

The 4-State meeting will be held September 16-17, 2016. This is a joint effort among Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas for our members to bond. Louisiana is hosting the first one and it is up Louisiana to move this forward.I encourage each member to come be a part of this as we want to show off our state.Friday night will be a casual fish fry at the El Karubah Shrine Center in Shreveport. The events on Saturday will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bossier City. The Saturday lunch is a time when you will be able to really get to know those from the other states as it is a time of just visiting and talking.¬Saturday night will be a formal affair. I look forward to seeing all of you here in Bossier City.Information concerning hotel reservations and ticket ordering is enclosed.
