From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:
The Schools of Instruction
are almost finished. I have heard
positive remarks about the Schools. Thank you for attending and participating
in these Schools. I know the Supervisors
appreciate your support and so do I.
I failed to thank Sister
Shirley Boone, PGM, Chairman and Sister Linda Lamkin,
PGM, ticket chairman for the La/Tx Exchange. You did an excellent
job and worked so well together in keeping all of us informed. Thank you so much. You were appreciated.
May 17th was a wonderful
day for a celebration. We celebrated the
100th birthday of Mystic Star # 108
In Denham Springs. Sister Bernadette Jones, Worthy Matron was
outstanding in her program for the
day. The history presented by Sister Billie Calvert, PM, Sister
Debbie Poche GC and Sister Bernadette Jones was very
interesting. There were members from the
chapter, members from the district and other districts, General Grand Chapter
Committee Member, Past Grand Matrons, Past Grand Patrons, nine Grand Officers,
friends, Masonic brothers, and even the Chief of Police in attendance. Did anyone other than Danny Warmack notice what the Chief of Police was driving? It was a great celebration and the cake, Ice cream
and punch were delicious.
I hope each chapter is
exemplifying the phase of work at each meeting, according to the list provided
in
your packet. For
the month of May, exemplify the duties of the Warder and for June, exemplify
balloting.
Clarification: If the Worthy
Matron, Worthy Patron, Associate Matron or Secretary can attend the
June 14th is Flag
Day. Flag Day, is a day for all Americans to celebrate and show respect for our
flag. Our flag is representative of our independence and our unity as a nation.....one
nation, under God, indivisible. Our flag has a proud and glorious history. As Americans, we have every right to be proud
of our culture, our nation, and our flag. So raise the flag on June 14th
with pride.
June 21st is Fathers Day. A
little boy prayer. There are little eyes upon you and they are watching
night and day. There are little ears that quickly take in every word you say. There are little hands all eager to do
everything you do and a little boy whos dreaming of
the day he be like you. Your the wisest of the wise in his
little mind, about you no suspicions ever rise.
He believes in you devoutly,
holds that all you say and do, he will say and do in your way, when he is
grown-up like you. Theres a wide-eye little fellow who believes your
always right, and his ears are always open, and he watches day and night. You are setting an example every day in all
you do. For the little boy whos waiting to grow up to be like you. Happy Fathers Day
to all our fathers.
