March 2015 – Newsletter

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

Wow! Is it March already? What a wonderful year. This will be my last letter to you and I want to say how much I have enjoyed serving you. I appreciate your attendance, great food, and wonderful programs. I will treasure all the memories. You have been great! Brother George and I wish Sister Kathy and Brother Rocky a successful year with safe travels.

On February 7th, many of us attended the Installation of a new International Order of the Rainbow for Girls Assembly in Denham Springs. The work was beautiful and the lessons were very touching. Congratulation to the girls and families.

The Alzheimers Dinner Theater on February 28th was well attended. Everyone had a great time and it was a success. The Grand Officers and I will have wonderful memories of our year. Thank you Diane Smith and your team for your hard work and organization.

Tour Director Lynn Bankston, PGM, tells me that there is still room on the bus for you to travel back in time to life in rural Louisiana at the LSU Rural Life Museum & Windrush Gardens. On Monday March 23 - bus leaves at 9:15 a.m. from Crowne Plaza and returns at 12:30 p.m. in time for the Distinguished Guests Luncheon. Cost is $33. Send your check to Lynn Bankston, PGM, 2895 McHugh Rd., Zachary 70791-5811 - call for further information 225/658-1776. Cutoff date: March 15.

The Grand Representative's Hospitality Room will be combined with the Distinguished Guests Hospitality Room again this year.  Please bring items to Second floor Hospitality Room on Sunday morning. Grand Representatives assignments for refreshments are: last names beginning with A-K bring cookies or chips and dips; those with last names beginning with L-Z bring drinks (2 liter bottles).

Quote of the Month Welcome every morning with a smile. Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator, another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday. Be a self-starter. Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again. Don't waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail. Og Mandino
