March 2016 Newsletter

From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:

Thank you for a year of memories, fun, lots of food, and all the friendships that we have made. Each of you has made this a special year for Brother Rocky, WGP, and me. We would like to thank our Grand Officers. You have honored us with your presence at many of the meetings. You made us laugh, shared in our adventures, and travels. I will always have special memories, and count you as my special friends. To each of you that has supported us, we thank you. The year is coming to a close, with Grand Chapter scheduled March 20 – 23, 2016 at the Sai Convention in Alexandria. Brother Rocky and I will be looking forward to seeing you. Soon we will begin a new chapter in our life, called Past Grands.

Thank you to Danny and Jo. Brother Rocky and I could not have completed this year without your love and support. Thank you for encouraging us, praying for us, and helping to keep us on track.

On February 6, we held our last Work and Ritual workshop in Winnfield. Thank you to the members of Palestine Chapter No. 55 for assisting us in the meal and allowing us to use the chapter room. There were 113 members present. It was the largest one held, and I was proud to see you interested in learning the work. When performed correctly, the work is beautiful. Thank you to Sister Joye Denny, PGM for all that you have done this year in serving your appointment as Chairman of Work and Ritual You are special. I cant wait to hear your report at Grand Chapter.

Dont forget to send in your registration and meal order for Grand Chapter. We have booked the Sai Convention Hotel to capacity. If you havent registered, and need a room, you may contact Best Western at 318-445-5530.

The first weekend in March, I hope to see you at the fish fry in Ferriday. Proceeds go the Associate Grand Matron and Associate Grand Patron. Lets support them. My support and best wishes go to Sister Rovenia McDonald, Associate Grand Matron and Brother Gerald Houston, Associate Grand Patron, as they become the leaders of our Order on Wednesday evening, March 23, 2016.

Our hearts were sadden at the passing of Sister Betty LeBourgeois, PGM. She was a very special lady. Each of us have our own special fond memories of her. She loved Eastern Star. She will be missed. Also our sympathy goes to Sister Linda Frazier and her family for the passing of Brother Al. He was one of the many faces that you would see at Grand Chapter. He helped me the year that I served as Grand Marshal repairing all the flag poles before the Flag Ceremony.

Please remember to pray for those who have been ill, had surgeries or lost loved ones, and remember our government and military.

We cant but God can

With the Stars in the Sky and Star love,

Kathy Warmack

Worthy Grand Matron
