From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

Well, the District Deputy Official Visits are winding down, and the Schools of Instruction will take place in the month of May! ††Thank you to all that have been traveling and supporting our District Deputy Grand Matrons. ††I know they have appreciated your support. ††Continue supporting our beautiful Order by attending your School of Instruction and the Official Visits that will begin in June. ††Many Chapters are struggling and many of the offices are not filled for regular meetings. ††That makes attending these other special meetings all that more important, so we can all see the work exemplified.¬REMINDER: ††ONLY Chapter members are to participate in Chapter business and discussions ††Please remember this if you are visiting another chapter. ††

Brother Otto and I want to thank everyone who attended our Homecoming Receptions on April 6 in Baton Rouge and April 20 in Leesville. ††We so appreciate all of the time and effort that went into making these events so special for us.

36 members from Louisiana attended Mississippi Grand Chapter in Hattiesburg April 14-16. ††We had 15 Grand Officers including our Ambassador to New Jersey, two GGCCM'S, six PGM s and PGP s and 13 other faithful traveling companions. We all passed a good time enjoying good food, fellowship and fun (Dominoes and Phase 10). George and Audrey Barker, Buck and Joye Denny, James and Lois Premeaux, Corinne Watson, Grand Ruth, and I attended Florida Grand Chapter in St. Augustine April 21-24. ††Then on April 27th Sister Gaila Clark and I flew to Maryland s Grand Chapter Session where Gaila met her Grand Representative counterpart and was treated royally. ††Special memories were made on all the trips. Later in May several of us are traveling with Sister Terrie Castay, Grand Ambassador to New Jersey, for her Official Visit at their Grand Chapter Session in Atlantic City. ††

SHRINER TRANSPORTATION PROJECT:††Secretaries, please get your Peppermint Candy sales monies to the Grand Secretary ASAP. ††We need these monies remitted so we can purchase our next shipment planned for June 1. Thank you so much for your help with this.

CANDIDATES: ††Candidates for AGP, AGC and other Elected Boards get your Letters of Intent into the Grand Secretary ASAP. ††During my remarks at the Official Visits I will be asking you to introduce yourselves. ††I think it is important that the membership know who they will be voting for at Grand Chapter!

There are so many things that come in two, three s and even thousands: ††sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, snowflakes, the stars above. But we only have ONE MotherCelebrate all the ladies in your life!Happy Mother‚s Day!

Star Love and Lilies For You!

I would like to thank everyone for the cards, phone calls and prayers concerning my stent procedure. It was a success. I am feeling great. I continue to covet your prayers as I have been diagnosed in the first stage of prostate cancer. Tests reveal that the prognosis is good and I have been undergoing radiation treatments. My health continues to hold up. Will keep you informed of my condition.. Thanks, Oscar Abshire, PGP

Thank you so much OES Grand Chapter Brothers and Sisters for your generous donation to the Louisiana Rainbow Girls. The girls and I appreciate everything that you do for us, both in our local assemblies and your financial donations. We are truly blessed to have such caring and loving sponsors. Thank you again.
