From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:

 

September was busy, and now we begin another busy month.Hopefully the weather will be cooler and we will see the leaves on the trees begin to change colors.

 

The Myrtle Celeste Luau was fun.Thank you Bro. Terry Howes for the beautiful program.It was heart- warming.The members of Myrtle Celeste went all out with the delicious food, decorations, andhospitality.Sister Diane Smith, PGM, did an awesome job on the La/Ms Friendship Exchange.We had 132 Musical Stars present.The food was delicious, and the entertainment was far more than expected.Wasn‚ it fun?Thank you Sister Diane, for all that you have done for Eastern Star. Thank you to Sister Linda Lamkin, Ticket Chairman.She did an awesome job, also.

 

Thank you to the District Deputy Grand Matrons and chapters that hosted the Official Visits in September.As always, everything was wonderful.There are three more official visits.District 5 will be held on Friday,October 2 at Lee Emmett Thomas Chapter #198 and District 4 will be held on Saturday, October 3 at Mt. Gerzim Lodge #54 in Bastrop.The last one will be District 8.It will be held at the Old Anacoco Baptist Church in Anacoco.You can find the complete information about these Official Visits in the Newsletter. Attendance has been very good.I have enjoyed visiting with each member, especially getting to know the new members.

 

Alabama Grand Chapter and Oklahoma Grand Chapter will be held this month.I hope to see many of you there.

 

Remember to honor the DeMolay this month.Collect your silver drill and turn it in to the Grand Secretary.You may wish to have them come to your chapter for a visit. Saturday, October 17th, will be the Cancer Roundup‚ Luncheon.Trent and Rejeanna Bonnette, Co-chairman have been preparing for this luncheon. Tickets are available from Sister Linda Lamkin, PGM.I hope to see you at the luncheon.We will take donations at the luncheon to go toward our Cancer project.

 

We are preparing for General Grand ChapterOctober 31November 4, 2015.If you plan on attending, please let Sister Terrie Castay, GGCCM, PGM, know.Wednesday, November 4th will be a breakfast

 

honoring Sister Terrie, Sister Diane, and Brother George.It will be Dutch treat.We will let you know place and time. Please send your donations for these GGCCM as soon as possible to your Secretary.If you dont meet before this date, please send it directly to the Grand Secretary noted for the GGCCM.(Cut Off date is October 15th)

 

Dont forget about our courtesy visits.More information is available in the newsletters.Chapters always love to have visitors.Last call for the Branson Extravaganza.You will enjoy the trip to Branson, so if you havent signed up and would love to go, please let us know as soon as possible.

 

If you have shoes for the Mexico Shoes project, please let me know.The last date that I will be able to accept the shoes will be November 1st.Thank you so much for your participation with this project.

Please remember those who have been ill, had surgeries, or have lost loved ones.Brother Edward Lamkin, PGP has been in the hospital.Please continue to remember him and Sister Linda.Also, Brother Edward Burnitt passed away on September 12thPlease remember Sister Paula, and her family. Brother George Barker had surgery and is home resting.Remember the military and our government.
